Questions worth a straight answer
This page covers the policy side — consent, what you may and may not generate, where your photos live, how to delete them, who owns the results, and money. Every answer here follows the Terms and Privacy Policy rather than paraphrasing them loosely, and the uncomfortable ones are answered plainly rather than left out.

Other people, and what you may generate
- Can I make photos of someone other than myself?
- Only with that person's consent. The Terms are explicit: if you use the facial images of individuals other than yourself to train facial models, you must obtain consent from those individuals in accordance with applicable laws, and you warrant that you have the appropriate consents for any third-party likeness you upload. This is not a formality — a face model is built from real photographs of a real person, and building one of someone who did not agree is the single clearest misuse of a tool like this.
- Can I generate a photo of a celebrity or public figure?
- No. Beyond the consent requirement above, the Terms prohibit content that impersonates or passes off another person or entity, and content that infringes intellectual property rights. Being famous does not constitute consent. The product is built around a face model of yourself, and that is the only use it is designed for.
- What am I not allowed to generate?
- The Terms prohibit, among other things, content that defames, harasses, coerces, humiliates, threatens or impersonates another person or entity; content containing another person's personal information; content that infringes intellectual property rights; and content that violates applicable law. Accounts can be suspended or terminated for it. The full list is in the Terms and is worth reading once rather than guessed at.
Where your photos actually go
- Do my photos get sent to another AI company?
- No. The Privacy Policy states it directly: "We do not send, sell, share, or transmit your uploaded photos, your AI model, or your generated images to any third party. No third-party AI service, advertising network, or external processor receives your photos or generated images." Uploads, your face model and the generated images are processed and stored on infrastructure Artisse owns and operates on AWS in the EU (Spain region), and all generation runs on those servers. Google Firebase holds account data — identifiers and references to your content — as a processor acting on Artisse's behalf, not your photos.
- Is my personal information shared with anyone?
- Only in two circumstances named in the Privacy Policy: where required to comply with applicable law, legal process or a lawful government or law-enforcement request; or in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case you are notified and any successor is bound by the same policy. For California residents the policy also states that personal information is not sold or shared, and that you cannot be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights.
Deleting things
- How do I delete my uploaded photos, my face model, or my whole account?
- The source photos you upload are kept until you delete the associated face profile, at which point they are deleted from the servers — and may be removed earlier once they are no longer needed to provide the service. Your face model and the images generated for you are kept until you delete them or delete your account. You can delete your account and its data at any time from inside the app, or request deletion through the support page. On account deletion the Privacy Policy states your AI model and generated images are permanently deleted in an unrecoverable manner.
- What rights do I have over my data?
- Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. Requests go to support@artisse.ai, and your identity may be verified before a request is acted on.
Who owns what
- Who owns the photos I generate?
- You keep whatever rights you have in your own content. The Terms say Artisse does not claim any ownership rights in user content, and that nothing in the Terms restricts rights you may have to use and exploit it. What Artisse does own is its own content — the app, the templates and its associated intellectual property — which is a separate thing from the photographs you make with it.
- Does a generated photo count as a photograph I can rely on?
- No, and this is worth being clear about regardless of what any terms say. A generated image is a plausible picture, not a record of an event. It should never be used for identity documents, insurance claims, journalism, or anything presented as evidence that something happened. That constraint is a property of the technology, not a policy someone chose.
Money and eligibility
- Can I get a refund?
- Generally no. The Terms state that, to the extent permitted by applicable law, Artisse does not generally provide refunds or credits for unused content unless otherwise agreed. Your statutory rights where you live still apply on top of that, and support is the place to raise a specific case — but the honest answer is that you should treat a credit purchase as spent rather than assume it is recoverable.
- Is there a minimum age?
- The service is not directed to children, and the Privacy Policy states that personal information is not knowingly collected from anyone under 16, or the minimum age required by local law where that is higher. Minors who are permitted to use it at all need their legal guardian's permission first. If a child has provided information, contacting support gets it deleted and the account closed.
